An eight-point communiqué signed and issued by the convener, Ahmadu Zumaru, a copy of which was made available to Daily Trust, indicated that the meeting was attended by concerned members of the branch who are full-time private practitioners held at Fingilla & Co., Yari House, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State on September 3, 2014.
 According to the members, they have “discussed and analysed extensively the alleged failure and gross incompetence associated with the Abubakar Abdullahi Esq-led caretaker executive and which alleged incompetence and failure relate to their willful refusal and or ability to carry out the sacred mandate to reconcile the various factions of the branch, organise election, convene meetings, brief members before and after delegate conference, organise members of the branch to attend annual conference,2014.”
 The communiqué urged the caretaker committee to stop parading itself as exco of the branch and that the Birnin Kebbi branch of the association (Equity Bar) now more than any time in its history, is desirous of strong, dynamic and committed leadership capable of addressing the challenges of the branch.
The embattled chairman, Abubakar Abdullahi when contacted on phone penultimate Saturday, responded to a text message. He said his exco reluctantly took the mantle of caretaker committee and called the then two factions – Zumaru and Garba Shehu – and reconciled them.
The resolution of the congress meeting, according to the embattled caretaker chairman, was that, “the issuance of the communiqué was the handiwork of an individual in the judiciary who is one of those vying for the position of a High Court judge.
 He, however, stressed the need for the caretaker committee to expedite action so as to conduct election and effect handover.
 He said a timetable for the election will be drawn after the meeting of the ADR committee.
