Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday, Iorfa said the team which won a continental ticket at the end of the season is still intact but he intends to bring in at least five players to fortify the team’s defence, midfield and attack.

The former international revealed that apart from David Tyavkase and Jonah Abutu who are leaving the club, his players are intact and he would not need to bring in too many new players.

He said one central defender, two midfielders and two strikers would be recruited to strengthen the team in these two critical areas.

Iorfa explained that any attempt to tinker too much with the team would be counter-productive because the present players have got the much needed understanding and unity.

He maintained that Lobi will depend on the old players to prosecute the CAF Confederation Cup which he said is just around the corner.

“I do not intend to overhaul the team. I don’t see any sense in changing a winning team. Moreover, apart from David Tyavkase and Jonah Abutu, the rest of the players are staying back to prosecute the Confederation Cup.

“There is no need to tamper with the team. In fact, what I have decided to do is to get five new players to beef up the team.

“I need to bring in a central defender, two midfielders and two attackers. Once this is done, I am confident we would face the continental challenge with any problem”.

Iorfa said the recent pre-season victory over Nasarawa United has proved that Lobi Stars FC is still the team to beat.
