Dr Joseph Ochogwu, Director-General/CEO, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), has expressed the organisation’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s peacebuilding human capital.
He disclosed this at the closing ceremony of the Strategic Course on Negotiation and Mediation (Chartered), held at the National Peace Academy in Abuja on Wednesday.
Nineteen participants, with a significant proportion drawn from the Nigerian Immigration Service, completed the 10-day programme.
“The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution remains firmly committed to developing Nigeria’s peacebuilding human capital,” he said, adding that, “The National Peace Academy will continue to deliver rigorous, relevant programmes that equip professionals across all sectors with the competencies our nation urgently requires.
“I am confident that this cohort will serve as worthy ambassadors of the values and standards of this Academy, and that their impact will be felt in measurable improvements in conflict resolution practice across Nigeria.”
Dr Ochogwu said all participants will be inducted as Members of the Peace Institute (MPI) at the next induction ceremony.
