Our correspondent reports that each bag is to be sold at N1,780.
Flagging up the sales and distribution at Bakori Local Government, Governor Ibrahim Shema said each year his administration procures 23,000 metric tonnes for all season farming.
Represented by his deputy Garba Faskari, Shema noted that significant achievements have been recorded in the agricultural sector which have led to massive reduction in unemployment and enhanced food production among others.
He said also that under the irrigation programme alone, 27 sites are being cultivated and are contributing immensely to agricultural production adding that “our state is fast assuming a model in agricultural revolution.”
Some of the farmers who spoke to our correspondent called for vigilance in the distribution and sale of the fertiliser.
Malam Bello said greater emphasis must be laid to ensure that politicians don’t hijack the commodity for their cronies who are not genuine farmers.
For Idris Abdullahi, another farmer, the commodity is what they (farmers) are in dire need of and called for more intervention in the areas of improved seeds and credit facilities.
