The committee also donated 200 pairs of clothes, 10 bags of rice and sugar, three bags of garri, four mats, hundred copies of Holy Qur’an and other Islamic books to other prisoners serving various jail terms.

The chairman of the foundation, Malam Ibrahim Abuya while donating the items said the gesture was part of the annual activities of the mosque which included assisting inmates.

The materials Abuya said were contributed by various Muslim communities in the state through mobilisation and preaching and called on the inmates to make good use of them.

While cautioning the freed inmates to be of good character and shun any act capable of denting their image, the chairman urged them to fear God in their daily undertakings, pointing out that any individual would  accountable for every of his or her deeds in the hereafter.
