Scholars of the Al-habiyyah Muslim Society of Nigeria have called for the involvement of the muslim ummah to join every effort aimed at fighting the menace of corruption in the society.

At the 2018 training of Imams in Lagos, the Founder of the Al-habbiyah Muslim society  Nigeria, Imam A.A Fuad said 95 percent of problem in Nigeria is corruption-induced and efforts by the Muslim ummah has become expedient to confront the challenge.

“When we discovered that corruption has now eaten deep into every segment of our lives, into everything which we do, corruption cancer is everywhere, we now decided that the best way to curb corruption is from the spiritual angle. It is believed that the spiritual angle will correct the behaviour of people in the society, as we know that Nigeria is a very religious country and people can easily be related with through religion,” Imam Fuad said.

He said having recognized the influence of Imam, the need to bring them on board cannot be overlooked as they possess the required influence to reach the larger populace.

Similarly, the Project Coordinator, Dr. Rekiyat Abaji said women also can stop corruption from the family angle. She said when the children are caught young before they go into the society; the tendency of curbing corruption in the society is very high.
