Speaker of Israel’s parliament Knesset, Yuli-Yoel Edelstein has said that the renewed fight against the  Boko Haram members by the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will get the support of his country.
Mr Edelstein said Israel was solidly behind Nigeria’s latest efforts to rout the Boko Haram insurgents before the end of the year.
The Israeli Speaker disclosed this yesterday during a meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, Yakubu Dogara on the sidelines of the ongoing Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in New York.
Mr. Edelstein said terrorism is a threat to all nations and as such the world must unite to fight insurgency irrespective of where it comes from, according to a statement by the Dogara’s media aide, Turaki Hassan.
“We must unite to fight terrorism and not to divide them into their terrorist and our terrorists.
“Israel is committed to fight against terrorism because terrorists use divisions between nations and even democratic countries,” he said.
His comments came after Dogara had solicited for Israel’s support to Nigeria against  Boko Haram and other security challenges.
The speaker also sought for Israeli’s investment in Nigeria’s agriculture, solid minerals, energy and tourism sectors.
He equally called for the establishment of Nigeria-Israel parliamentary friendship group to help deepen bilateral relation between the two countries.
The two parliamentary leaders also revealed plans to establish Nigeria-Israel parliamentary friendship group in the near future.a
