Founder of Thespian Family Theatre and Productions and author of ‘Itan’, Ayo Jaiyesimi is set to release the theatre adaptation titled ‘Itan the story’ in Ghana. The play is about Asiko- the protagonist who is strong-willed and deeply rooted in his beliefs, side-by-side his grandson who is also as hot-headed and deeply rooted in his modern beliefs.
‘Itan the story’ is rich in dance, drama, and content. This story features the difficulty of the older generation adopting the systems and changes introduced by the new generation.The story takes us through the development of the protagonist. After Asiko comes to terms with the new generation and their beliefs, he then serves as a mediator between the elders and his grandson; he takes them on a journey into the past and the future and they both discover secrets that make them come to terms with the fact that they need each other to survive.
The play will feature top stage actors like Hafiz Oyetoro(Saka), Yinka Davies, Efe Mayford- Orhorha, Lara Akinsola, Paul Adams, Kunle Dada, Henry and Nissi George. The stage play will debut this July, and will be produced by Thespian Family Theatre and Productions in collaboration with the National Theatre of Ghana and a host of other organisations.
