This led to disagreement, confusion and tension in the area. Fortunately, a Federal High Court came to the rescue on April 7 2010 when it ruled that Yohanna was the rightful candidate in the election. True democracy, they say is a system of government that allows the majority to have the final say. Now, Yohanna has got the mandate of his people to steer their affairs.
Therefore, I advise Yohanna to endeavour to run an open government. There is need for him to accommodate divergent opinions including those from the very people who stiffly opposed him during electioneering. By so doing, his administration will bear the grassroots fruits his predecessor’s, Hon Isa Dara bore.
I would like to appeal to Yohanna’s arch rival in the election (Dikko) and his cohorts to put the past behind them so me will move our amiable council area forward. Let us all forget our grievances in the interest of Bwari Area Council. This is what democracy entails and this can be show of maturity!
