Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has said he has no preferred aspirant ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the state.

The governor stated this on Tuesday night during the breaking of Ramadan fast with members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

Sani said he would not interfere in the primaries scheduled to hold between April and May, assuring that he would support whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer through a credible process.

“My advice to every aspirant seeking any office is to get the support of party members. I have no anointed candidate in the coming primaries. I will abide by what the people decide,” he said.

The governor, however, declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains his only candidate, pledging to work for his re-election in 2027.

He urged aspirants who may lose in the primaries not to work against the party, describing such action as counterproductive.

Sani recalled that during the previous APC congress in the state, some of his supporters were prevented from securing party positions.

“At that time, some people wanted me to work against the party, but I refused. I said I would not work against the house I helped to build. Today, by the grace of God, I am the governor,” he said.

He advised party members to remain united and resist attempts by the opposition to sow discord, especially after the primaries.
