Iwo indigenes insist on zoning

The people of Iwo in Osun State have reiterated their position on zoning of the governorship seat to Osun West Senatorial District.

The Coordinator of Iwoland Development Coalition, Mr. Adisa Kabiru, while speaking on behalf of the indigenes, said zoning the governorship was for fairness. He noted that a statement credited to a prominent indigene of Iwo, Prof. Deremi Abubakre, that zoning was not necessary should not be taken as the general position of all indigenes.

“It is important to stress that our revered Prof. Abubakre was speaking for himself in the said interview. In Iwo, we respect individual right to free speech, but we want to reiterate that the general populace of Iwo believe that the governorship ticket should be zoned to Osun West,” he said.
