Iwo indigenes lament delay in prosecution of suspected ritualists

The indigenes of Iwo town in Osun State have lamented over the delay in the prosecution of the suspected ritual killers apprehended in the community last year.
Speaking in Iwo on Sunday on behalf of the umbrella body for all Iwo indigenes, Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT), one of the community leaders in the town, Otunba Jiire Ayinla demanded immediate prosecution of the suspects.

The ritual killers’ hideout was discovered at Yemoja compound, Iwo on Monday, 23rd November 2020.
It took the timely intervention of Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu 1, and other respectable Iwo people to prevent total breakdown of law and order in the area over the incident.
Ayinla said the true sons and daughters of Iwo, home and abroad, considered the incident as unfortunate and expected the police to prosecute the suspects without delay to serve as deterrence to others.
Ayinla lamented that the suspects have not been arraigned in court to face trial since the incident happened.
