In the said letter, Iyabo described her father as a liar, manipulator and two-faced hypocrite. She also accused him of constantly abusing her mother. But according to a report on AIT television, Iyabo denied writing the said letter which has gone viral. See AIT’s tweet below:

This recent declaration by AIT that she denied writing the letter has caused a lot of confusion among Nigerians, especially on social media. As such, they did not hesitate to bare their minds via Facebook and other social media sites to express how they felt about the letter. This is what they said:
Egah Godwin: If it is true that she didn’t write the letter, then it is the recent letter Baba wrote that is causing those that are against him to do this, in order to cause problems between Baba and his family, and also to cause distraction. Baba should not let this letter distract him, because his letter was on point.
Elizabeth Mirable: Iyabo was present when Obasanjo collided with the northerners to accuse Jonathan , but she is in love with Jonathan and cannot afford to watch Jonathan leave the office on fake letters with lies.
Oluomo Mentain: Instead of them to think of how to make provisions for light, water and security for Nigerians, they are saying things which are of little value to Nigeria’s development.  Stupid leaders.
George Chukwuma Agbo: Drama. People ruling Nigeria have not been able to rule their homes well, let alone the nation.
Olajide Oluwanishola Balogun: I totally disagree with Iyabo because even a blind man will see that she’s doing this for political gains or benefit. Who is she to call her own father, the man that made her what she is today, stupid? If not for her father, who was she to have become a commissioner not to talk of a federal lawmaker? OBJ might be a monster but he got it right by writing to the president. The onus is now on the president to defend all the allegations
Oluwashina Peter: I have my reservations about the authenticity of this letter because during Obasanjo’s regime, Iyabo Obasanjo benefited. She became a commissioner, later a senator and was planning to become Governor.
Kehinde Onibokun: Iyabo, this is pure sacrilege in Yoruba culture. Calling your father unprintable names in an open letter is the height of absurdity. You are not the first child that would be abandoned (if your position is correct) by her father. Examples abound in Nigeria of people who went through this and came out to be helpful to their fathers.
No one knows how long this father/daughter feud would go on. Would it have any effect in the 2015 general elections? Nigerians are excitedly following the development.
