The Muslim Community of Iyara in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State has appointed Sheik Qaseem Musa Al-Iyarawy as the new Chief Imam of Iyaraland.
The new Imam who was recently turbaned under the chairmanship of Ambassador Usman Bello the Chairman Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), was born into the family of Alhaji and Madam Musa Omojola of Idi-Oro Royal Clan, Ilupa Iyara.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Iyara Muslim Community Alhaji Aliyu Badaki said the event was a milestone in the history of the land.
“It is the beginning of a new era of revival and a new era of revival and propagation of the religion of Islam in Iyara,” Badaki said.
The new Chief Imam had his Islamic and Western educations in Lokoja, Kogi state; Offa Kwara state and Osogbo, Osun State.
