He was born on March 25, 1956 in Zaria, and obtained a bachelor of law degree from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. The former Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Maritime Authority started his career as a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he served between 1981 and 1983.
He was at various times a commissioner in Kaduna State and was also President of Kaduna Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines & Agriculture (KADCCIMA) between 2001 and 2005.
The new board also has Mr. Ibrahim Boyi as member and Managing Director/CEO as well as Mr. Jumat Oluwafuyi Alli and Mr. Jaime Pena as executive directors. Also, Alhaji Tajudeen Ahmed Datti and Alhaji Sani Dauda will serve as non-executive directors. The board had since been inaugurated.
