Rep Jagaba, who represents Kachia/Kagarko federal constituency in Kaduna State said he is venturing into the race having garnered the “requisite” legislative experience, having been in the lower chamber since 2003.
By this declaration, the number for the interested members surge to six that include the minority leader of the House, Rep Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos), Rep Yakubu Dogara (Bauchi), Rep Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Borno), Rep Abdulmumini Jibril (Kano) and Rep Ajibola Famurewa (Osun). However, the emergence of Rep Jagaba alongside Rep Jibril both from Northwest mars the possibility of the zoning arrangement.
Jagaba in a statement by his senior media aide, Aaron S. Akaito yesterday, said he had decided “to contest for whatever position his party. (All Progressives Congress) may zone to the North West in the House of Representatives.
