Joint Admissions and Matriculation ‎Board (JAMB) is contemplating running two session of computer-based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) per day.

The Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede made the remarks when the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education visited the Board’s headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

He said the Board will introduce two exam sessions per day to ensure that candidates have enough time to finish exams and avoid leaving exam venues behind schedule.

The Board said the move will better the scheduling process of exams‎.

Prof. Oloyode also said the Board required more funding to be able to carry out its mandate, adding that, it will avoid waste and unnecessary spending.

He said the N24 million received as overhead cost instead of N50 million in 2016 was not enough to pay electricity bills.

He called on the National Assembly to reconsider it’s decision to adjust the validity period of JAMB‎ results.

The Committee Chairman, Sen. Jibrin Barau said the legislation process on the adjustment of validity period cannot be easily changed. He said the Board must specify how monies allocated to it are spent.
