The projects are in the areas of primary education, water and sanitation, primary health and agriculture.
The Deputy Head of Mission of Japan to Nigeria Mr. Masaya Otsuka made this known on Thursday while commissioning a Primary School at Gyeyidna in Bwari Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He said education is one of basic human needs and crucial for human capital development which is the foundation of country’s development.
Otsuka explained that inadequate learning environment deprives children of the chance to develop their potential and ultimately to get a decent job.
The envoy said the Gyeyidna Primary School used to have only one block of two classrooms before this project and the pupils who could not be accommodated in the classrooms had to study outside under the sun.
“It is very important that the impact of the project will be sustained for many years to benefit as many children as possible,” he said.
The envoy said the key for achieving the best outcome of the project is further cooperation and efforts from all the people involved and have no doubt that it will be achieved.
He said Japan look forward to seeing the children of the project enriching their lives with the full of opportunities to accomplish their goals in life and contributing to the future of Nigeria as a whole.
