Lopez recently revealed she tried desperately to fix her marriage, and now Anthony has told fans his side of the separation story. In an interview for US show Nightline, he says, “I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic (sic) happening. It was a realisation on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly.
“This is not a funeral. This is not a burial. This is just two people who came together and just realised… I’m saying that it wasn’t sustainable the way it was, and that’s that.” Anthony also admits he will “always love Jennifer”, adding, “She knows that and my kids know that. Jennifer is a wonderful, wonderful woman, a wonderful mother, a wonderful friend.”
And he refuses to be downbeat about the split: “It is sad… you think about your family, the possibilities, but we realised very early on that even though we’re not together, this story’s not over. There’s stuff to do together, life to see together through Max and Emme, so it’s all good.”
