The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has sponsored the wedding of 30 female orphans and provided empowerment grants to an additional group to help them become self-sufficient.

The Chairman of the JIBWIS Orphans Committee in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abdullahi A. Diggi, disclosed this during the wedding ceremony held on Wednesday in Abuja. 

According to Diggi, the support was divided into specific categories based on merit and need.

He explained that ten brides, who emerged as winners in a complete Quran memorization competition, received full sets of household furniture and N300,000 each for their immediate upkeep and that of their husbands.

He added that 20 other brides from within the FCT were granted N500,000 each to purchase their own household items. Furthermore, a member of the House of Representatives from Kebbi State, Sani Yakubu Noma, pledged furniture items for this group.

According to the Chairman, several other women drawn from across the 36 states and the FCT were also assisted with N300,000 each to serve as startup capital for small businesses.

Two of the brides, Maryam Hamza and Fatima Ismail, expressed their gratitude for the gesture.

 Representing the grooms, Salisu Abdulqadir and Muhammad Mansur, thanked JIBWIS for sponsoring the weddings and easing the financial burden of starting a home.

The National Chairman of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, spoke extensively on the spiritual rewards attached to the guardianship of orphans and offered prayers for the couples, wishing them peaceful and happy married lives.
