Jigawa agric centre’s graduates get N20m loan

This was disclosed to newsmen by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Rabiu Isa Taura. He said the 140 graduates were trained in various agric businesses ranging from small scale poultry, fish farming, rice production, cattle and ram fattening among others, adding that each beneficiary got between N150,000 and N160,000 as startup capital.
Isa told the beneficiaries that all interests and charges by the bank would be paid by the state government and that the beneficiaries are expected to start repaying the money after six months.
The commissioner also told the beneficiaries that a monitoring committee has been put in place to ensure that the loans are used for the purpose meant.
The Managing Director of Jigawa Savings and Loans who provided the facility, Alhaji Muhammad Sani, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the loan adding that anyone who maximised his money would benefit from further grant by the bank.
Adamu Suleiman who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries said they would use the money judiciously and thanked the state government for making their dream come true.
