Abdullahi Suleiman of Dutse Golf Club has emerged the overall winner at the just concluded 2022 Golf Cup organized in honour of Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari.

More than 100 golfers participated in the well attended tournament after the ceremonial tee-off was performed on Saturday, July 2 by a former deputy governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, who represented the state governor.

The 2-day tournament attracted players from prominent Nigerian golf clubs from Kano, Rayfield Jos, Lamingo, Jaji, Zaria, Kaduna, Lafiya, Dutse, Abuja and Bauchi among others.

Players were categorized into 5, with category one comprising players with handicap between 0- 9; Category two – 10- 19 handicap; category three 20 – 28 handicap as well as Veterans 0 – 28 handicap and Ladies 0 – 28 handicap.

The champion, Abdullahi Suleiman, handicap 1 from Kano state, plays for Dutse Golf club in Jigawa state.

Others who won prizes with Best Gross in different categories include Comfort Aderole, handicap 16 from Lafiya golf club; Hassan Adamu, handicap 7 from Zaria golf club for veteran’s category; Fahad Suleiman, handicap 21 from Katsina golf club for category 3, and Mannir Abdullahi, handicap 12 from Katsina golf club.
