Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sani Garun-Gabas, who made the commendation while on courtesy visit to the Governor in Dutse, the state capital, declared that the Lamido-led administration had shown that it was a progressive government.
“Though he is yet to be proved beyond reasonable doubt, what is on ground has proved to a large extent that the government of Governor Sule Lamido is a progressive government. We are aware of the governor’s efforts in making the judiciary strong and truly independent and we must commend this”, Garin Gabas said.
He noted that with the efforts of the government in all areas of physical and socio-economic development, the state was on its way to greatness ,especially if the tempo is sustained.
The chairman thanked the Governor for accepting to host the association’s next National Executive Committee meeting in the state capital in November, stressing that such hosting would showcase the state to other Nigerians who would be attending.
Responding, Governor, Sule Lamido expressed happiness at the visit, noting that lawyers formed part of the conscience of the country as they defended the rights of all citizens.
He noted that Jigawa State had been in the wilderness in terms of development because of its peculiar history. He however declared that the present administration saw the state as a challenge, stressing that this informed the determination with which the government was attending to the problems of the state.
He said with everybody’s cooperation, the state would attain greater heights in a short time.
