Pilgrims from Jigawa State participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia have continued to commend the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board for providing quality feeding, medical care and welfare support during their stay in the holy land.

Many of the pilgrims, who spoke with Daily Trust in Makkah, described the medical services and welfare arrangements as timely, effective and life-saving, especially for elderly pilgrims performing strenuous religious rites under harsh weather conditions.

One of the pilgrims, Ahmad Muhammad from Dutse, narrated how he suddenly fell ill while performing religious activities but was quickly attended to by the state’s medical team.

According to him, immediately he reported at the clinic, in which the health personnel conducted medical examinations and provided treatment without delay.

“I was weak and could not continue with my Tawaf comfortably. But immediately I visited the medical team, they attended to me professionally and gave me proper medication. Within a short time, I recovered and continued my Tawaf and other acts of worship,” he said.

Ahmad praised the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board for what he described as its unwavering commitment towards ensuring the comfort, health and safety of all pilgrims from the state.

Another pilgrim, Lawan Ilu, also expressed satisfaction with the attention given to sick pilgrims by the medical officials attached to the delegation.

He explained that he received prompt treatment after falling ill and recovered shortly after taking the prescribed drugs.
“The medical team gave me quick attention when I became sick.

The drugs they provided were very effective. Once or twice you take the medicine, your health improves immediately,” Ilu stated.
An elderly female pilgrim, who pleaded anonymity, emotionally recounted her experience after becoming seriously ill in Makkah.

The woman said she initially feared for her life due to the severity of her condition, but expressed gratitude to the medical team for restoring her health.

“When I became sick, I thought I would die because of how weak I was. But the doctors and nurses treated me very well. Alhamdulillah, I have now recovered and continued my Tawaf and other Ibadah peacefully,” she said.

The board has also provided accommodation located close to Masjidil Haram, easing movement for pilgrims, especially the elderly and those with health challenges.

Some pilgrims further applauded the provision of regular three square meals, describing the feeding arrangement as organised and adequate.
