Police in Jigawa state has commenced search for a murder suspect, Shuaibu Haro, 30, who is on the run for allegedly killing his wife.
The lifeless body of the suspect’s wife, Sahura Shuaibu, 20, was found in the wee hours of Monday in a nearby bush with a hoe kept by her side.
The deceased, who was killed in Warwade village in Dutse local government area, was certified dead by medical doctors at Rasheed Shokoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse.
The suspect was said to have had frequent quarrels with his late wife and after the brutal murder of Sahura, he took to his heel alongside their 2-yr old son.
When contacted, the Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the incident and said the runaway husband of the deceased was the principal suspect in the murder case.
“When police went to his house to invite him for questioning, it was discovered that he had since fled. It is base on this that police launched a manhunt team while investigation into the case continuing,” he said.
