Jigawa State government has set up a committee for recovery of N3.6 billion outstanding payment of Abubakar Rimi Housing Estate.
The chairman of the committee, Air Commondore Abubakar Sadiq (rtd),told Daily Trust over the weekend in Dutse that verification forms would be issued to all beneficiaries of the estate in order to ascertain the real present owners of the house.
He added that the verification became necessary because there were cases where the original beneficiaries might have died as well as instances where there were some changes in ownership.
Sadiq stated that the verification forms would be available for all beneficiaries adding that any occupant that failed to fill such form should have himself to blame.
The chairman said government had spent about N5billion to construct the housing estate adding, government would not relent on its efforts until all debts in respect of the housing have been recovered.
“There is outstanding payment of N3.6 billion from the occupants of the Abubakar Rimi Housing Estate,”he said.
