Presenting the donation to the group, the Secretary to the State Government Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Taura, said the gesture was part of the government’s efforts towards improving security in the state.

The facilities donated to the vigilante, Pyramid Trust observed included uniforms, touch lights and working materials.

Dr. Aminu Taura  explained that, the state government had donated the materials following the request  by the group seeking for assistance to meet with the new policy introduced by their national headquarter, especially on uniforms, identity  cards and other working facilities.

He said the state government had considered it worthy to assist the group following their significant role in providing the security of lives and properties in the state.

“Vigilant group are group of people who recognised the importance of security and they volunteer themselves for assisting other security agencies to ensure sustainable security and respect to the law and order,” said SSG.

In his remarks the state commander of the group Alhaji Usman Muhammad Jahun thanked the state government for granting their request, and promised to utilize the materials judiciously. He also assured the government that, they would reciprocate the gesture by redoubling their effort in assisting the security agencies to maintain low and order in the state.
