Speaking to newsmen at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), the chairman explained that the fair is envisaged to open up the Jigawa potential to the international and local markets.

Engineer Da’u further stated that, the Trade fair that will attract both local and international firms is part of the measures designed by the present administration of the state to reposition and harness the economic viability of the state that had been overshadowed by Kano state in the last 18 years.

“We are working on a number of proposals that will not only elevate and expose Jigawa economic potential to the outside world, but also compete with Kano state commercially. It is a fact that Kano state had over the last 18 years overshadowed our commercial growth, so we want to restore that glory of ours,” Aliyu stressed.

The Chairman revealed that the Chamber of Commerce will work  closely with Sule Lamido’s administration to achieve the set goals, maintaining that the task of building a commercially viable Jigawa is a for all well meaning citizens of the state.

Aliyu therefore solicited the co-operation of all citizens on the march towards what he described as ‘self discovery’, pointing out that the Chamber will remain focused and will employ genuine means to bring the state to an  enviable height in the country.
