The Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, has said that the state government will go into partnership with the Federal University Dutse in the area of research in science, technology and agri-business.
This was disclosed to newsmen when the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of the university, Professor Taoheed  Adedoja, led members on a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House.
He said his administration is determined to wean Jigawa from over dependence on the federal government’s monthly allocation, adding that he could only achieve that through scientifically researched agriculture which the university can provide through their skilled manpower.
Badaru told the council that he is ready to go into partnership with the university in the areas of developing improved seedlings, best agric extension practices, local technology and development of agric-business strategy for farmers in the state, adding that China is already partnering with the state through investment in large scale integrated farming.
