A statement from the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology signed by its public relation officer, Mallam Isma’ila Ibrahim, said the beneficiaries are to be sponsored within three years.
According to the statement, the state’s commissioner of education, Professor Haruna Wakili made the disclosure when he received a team of professors from Tanta University of Egypt on courtesy visit.
The commissioner said the state government will collaborate with the Tanta University in the area of staff development and research.
The Vice President of Tanta University, who led the team to Jigawa state, Professor Mohammed Dabaon assured the commissioner that Tanta University will help for the smooth take-off of Jigawa State University.
Professor Daboan said Tanta will sign a MoU with the newly established Jigawa State University for collaboration in the areas of design, construction, staff exchange, staff development and joint research.
The visiting professors were conducted round the permanent site of the university by the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu.
Professor Ribadu who thanked the visitors for the gesture, also assured the university’s readiness to work closely with Tanta University in many areas.
