Professor Wakili who was speaking in the state with newsmen, said the three faculties are those of Natural and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Education.
He said: “The National Universities Commission recently recognized the state university as the 39th state university and the 129th university in the Nigerian university system. It is a conventional university that will offer courses and conduct researches in various areas of Sciences, Education and Humanities and Management. In the Faculty of Science, we are starting with department of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. In the Humanities, we have English, Arabic, Hausa, History and International Studies and Islamic studies while Faculty of Education offers relevant courses in that area.”
He said the courses were selected with the manpower needs of the state in mind, adding that the university will be of highest infrastructural and academic standard.
