The Governing Council of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has awarded Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Jirgi as a Fellow of the Institute.
A veteran journalist, Ibrahim Jirgi’s educational pursuits began in 1993 when he did a news reporting course at the University of Maiduguri. By 1996, Jirgi had bagged a Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication of the Institute of Journalism and Continuing Education, Enugu; the same year, he chanced unto another diploma accomplishment of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja.
He was a Senior Reporter with the Borno Community Concord; Editor, Maiduguri Regional Office, Telex Publications Limited Zaria; Chief Correspondent in Borno and Yobe states for the Daily Times of Nigeria between 1989 and 1997. He was also a BBC Hausa Service Correspondent in Maiduguri and Abuja between 1990 and 2001 and thereafter, Jirgi moved to the National Interest newspaper as North East Correspondent between 2001 and 2003.
Jirgi, MD/CEO of the Abuja based Triple Cee Media Limited, an Advertising and Public Relations outfit was appointed as the Special Assistant and later Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the Yobe state Governor between 2002 and 2007.
He was, in 2012 made a member of the Board of Directors, Abuja Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and in the last presidential election in 2015, he served as Member, Field Operations Directorate, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abuja.
