JM Liberty FC yesterday walloped Ottasolo 3-0 in Matchday two of the ongoing Nationwide League One (NLO) Super 8 playoff at Remo stars stadium, Ikenne, in Ogun state.
Although the Makurdi based side had the match under control right from the blast of the whistle, they failed to break the deadlock as the half ended in a barren draw.
Even as the scanty crowd was clearly rooting for Ottasolo, JM Liberty continued to dominate proceedings and their efforts were rewarded in the 61st minute after a sublime finish from Shittu Olagunju.
In the 76th minute, Olagunju was well positioned to punish Ottasolo for his brace to hand his side a 2-0 advantage.
Efforts by Ottasolo to reduce the tally proved abortive as Akuki Musa in goal for JM Liberty was equal to the task to forestall Ottasolo attempts to stage a comeback.
The match was put beyond the reach of Ottasolo as Moses Atsaka nailed them with his goal in 90th minute for the 3-0 rout of the Lagos based team.
In other matches played yesterday, Jnr Danburam defeated Udala FC 4-2, Campos edged Ijebu United 4-1 while Doma Fc drew 1-1 with Destiny Boys.
The NLO Super 8 is to determine the overall winner of the 2021 season among the eight clubs that have gained promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
