JOHESU FMC Katsina embark on strike over IPPIS

IPPIS is a payment platform introduced by the Federal Government for all workers on its payroll.
Daily Trust reports that the strike action which coincides with the nationwide strike embarked upon by the Nigeria Medical Association has further crippled activities at the centre.
JOHESU’s joint chairman Yusuf Mohammed alleged that the management of the institution commenced the implementation of the new platform without following due processes of registration for a selfish motive.
He said over 120 people were omitted from June salary payment, saying the union wants a total reversal to the old system of payment.
The union further accused the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the centre, Umar FarukAbdulmajid of high handedness in the administration of the hospital noting that “we are beginning to lose patience in his capability in administration.”
In his response, Abdulmajid debunked the allegations, describing them as untrue and blatant lies. Abdulmajidsaid IPPIS is a national policy that was introduced, which may have challenges at its initial stage.
He said FMC Katsina can’t be an exception to the policy, just as he called for restraint, saying all issues arising from the commencement of the scheme are being tabled for corrections.
He pleaded with the striking union to return to work.
