Comrade Johnson was elected during PENGASSAN Fourth National Delegates Conference (NDC) held last week at the National Centre for Women Development in Abuja to elect new officers for the union.
According to the union, Comrade Johnson polled 273 votes to defeat Comrade Seyi Gambo of Petroleum Equalisation Fund Management Board (PEFMB) who scored 153 votes.
Comrade Jude Nwaogu of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited emerged the Deputy President position with 245votes, as against Comrade Sam Ndukwe of Chevron with 179 votes.
Other results are: National Treasurer, Musa Achimugu of Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) 272 votes to beat Comrade Ambar Ndoma Egba of Department of Petroleum Resources ((DPR), who scored 128 votes. Comrade Emmanuel Ojugbana of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) also clinched Public Relations Officer position with 245 votes, ahead of Comrade Abundance Usiefo, who had 126 votes, Comrade Nduka Ohaheri of Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) polled 248 votes for the position of the Industrial Relations Officer to beat Comrade Elvis Omoifo Irefo of Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) who scored 157 votes.
The position of the Auditor went to Comrade Y. P. Naron of Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) with 211 votes, while Comrade Evelyn Ijeoma emerged the only woman on the board as she garnered 272votes to beat her compatriot Gloria Remi johnson who scored 126 for the Women in Pengassan position.
The statement quoted the new President of the union as saying in his  acceptance speech that  his priority will be the issue of job security and decent job for its members, adding that the panacea for resolving the myriads of challenges facing the union revolves round a concerted effort by all members.
According to him, the association is in dire need of filial reformation, adding that this could not be achieved in an atmosphere of chaos, division and suspicion, except if all members are united.
“My immediate task and by far strongest optimism is to mend fences, repair relationships, build confidence, and inspire a united association for greater work ahead. The solution is to engender mutual trust by offering responsible and inspirational leadership,” he said.
