President Goodluck Jonathan today arrived Abuja after his four-day private visit to Germany.

Dressed in a blue suit, a white shirt and his trademark hat, Jonathan landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport at about 4.30pm.

He was received by his Chief of Staff Jones Arogbofa, FCT Minister Bala Mohammed, Acting Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba and other top government officials.

Jonathan headed straight to his private residence at the Aso Rock Villa where he was received by aides and family members.

The president had left for Germany in the early hours of Friday on a private visit, according to his spokesman, Reuben Abati.

Since the president’s departure, it had been widely speculated that he was flown to Germany for an urgent medical attention.

The speculation was sequel to the abrupt cancellation on Thursday, of a dinner the president was said to have been scheduled to have with the delegates of the just concluded National Conference.

Meanwhile, Jonathan is expected to lead the Federal Government’s delegation to Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro-Cathedral, Garki Abuja, tomorrow for a service of songs in honour of the late former Minister of Information, Dora Akunyili.
