Supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan near the Eagle SquarePresident Goodluck Jonathan has said government is deploying special forces to engage insurgents in the north east to end their “senseless killings.”

 President Jonathan said this while formally declaring his intension to run for the presidency come 2015at the Eagle Square Wednesday.

The president, who sympathised with the victims of Potiskum school suicide attack, called for a moment’s silence in their honour.

While canvassing support for president Goodluck Jonthan, Vice president Namadi Sambo said the president has led the nation well.

President Jonathan is not a only the best boss, but a listening one who elicit the best from his subordinate.

Senate President David Mark spoke in support of president Goodluck Jonathan presidency post 2015 urging Nigerians to vote for him.

Earlier Former Nigerian Internationals, Kanu Nwankwo and Taribo West got to the venue of the declaration.

President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namabi Sambo have made it into the square  where governors and top PDP politicians are seated.

 Among the about 30 support group in the square are politicians and government functionaries.

The declaration of the president is coming barely 24 hours after a suicide bomber disguising as a student killed 49 people during school assembly at Government Science Secondary School, Potiskum, Yobe state, Northeastern Nigeria.
