The Council of State meeting is ongoing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting, being presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, is being held inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa.

The meeting started at about 11.30 am today.

Former heads of state Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar are among the ex-leaders present at the meeting.

Some governors are also in attendance.
