President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday called on his opponents for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket; Mrs. Sarah Jubril and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to join hands with him into build Nigeria and claim electoral victory at the general elections.
Jonathan, in his acceptance speech, said the mandate given to him is unique because it makes a decisive statement not only in the nation’s history, but also showed that Nigerians have chosen the unity of the country above all other considerations.
Meanwhile, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has assured that he is committed to entrenching democratic governance, rule of law and democratic process in Nigeria. Atiku who gave the assurance in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the Atiku Campaign Organisation, said the former Vice President has commenced consultations with his supporters and other stakeholders and will be making a pronouncement on the PDP presidential primaries. According to the statement, the outcome of these consultations will determine Atiku’s next line of action.
