Former heads of states and state governors are currently attending the Council of State meeting chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The meeting, which began at about 12noon, is being held inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In attendance are former Heads of State Generals Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, former head of the National Interim Government Chief Ernest Shenekan as well as former Presidents Shehu Shagari and Olusegun Obasanjo.
Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) is conspicuously absent at the meeting.
The governors at the meeting include those of Adamawa, Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Taraba, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Kogi.
Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo as well as Senate President David Mark and Speaker of the House of Representatives are also in attendance.
