President Goodluck Jonathan, on his arrival from the Republic of Congo, today met with spokesmen of security agencies.

Jonathan Mondaay went to Oyo, Congo to consult with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso on the current security situation in West and Central Africa.

The consultation was ahead of the meeting of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council opening in the Congolese town today.

The president today engaged the spokespersons of the security agencies in a closed door meeting that lasted for over two hours.

At the meeting were Defence spokesman Major-General Chris Olukolade, police spokesman Frank Mba and the spokesman of the Department of State Security (DSS) Ms. Marilyn Ogar.

They were led to the meeting by the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri.

Journalists were not briefed after the meeting, but it was gathered that the security agencies’ spokesmen were at the State House to update the president on their agencies’ efforts towards rescuing the abducted schoolgirls of Chibok, Borno State.
