Jonathan’s invitation causes stir among South West Muslim youth

Inside sources said Jonathan had contacted Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State about his (president’s) interest to talk to the Muslim youths in the region after attempts to meet the Muslim leaders of the zone allegedly failed.
An arrangement penultimate Sunday by the president to meet Yoruba Muslim leaders under the aegis of Muslim Ummah of South West (MUSWEN) was rebuffed because the leadership were apprehensive as they were accused of taking money from the president.
A source told Daily Trust that Governor Mimiko, who is the arrow head of Jonathan’s campaign in the South West, has delegated the job of mobilising the Muslim youth to his junior brother who is a celebrated Islamic activist, Dr Abbas Mimiko.
“We learnt that his contact with the leadership of NACOMYO also got a rebuff as they don’t want to be in the bad books of the leaders of Muslims in the country,” the source said.
