Jonathan sacks heads of aviation parastatals

President Goodluck JonathanPresident Goodluck Jonathan today dropped some heads of parastatals in the ministry of aviation in what the Presidency said was a “reorganization.”
 
A press statement by the spokesman to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Anyim Pius Anyim, Sam Nwaobasi said Jonathan has approved the re-organisation which affected the Managing Director (MD) of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Mr. George Uriesi, MD of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Nnamdi Udoh and the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria Mrs Chinyere Kalu.
 
Others affected are the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Capt Fola C. Akinkuotu, while Capt Muhktar Usman has been replaced as Commissioner, Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIPB).
 
According to the statement, Engr. Saleh Dumona (Director Projects, FAAN) is to replace Mr. George Uriesi as MD of FAAN, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam (General Manager, Procurements, NAMA) replaces Engr. Nnamdi Udoh as MD of NAMA while Capt. Samuel Akinyele Caulcrick (Government Safety Inspector & ICAO Focal Point for Nigeria on line Aircraft Safety Information Systems, OASIS) is to replace Capt. (Mrs.) Chinyere Kalu as Rector of NCAT.
 
It said that Capt. Muhktar Usman (Commissioner, Accident Investigation & Prevention Bureau, AIPB) will replace Capt. Fola C. Akinkuotu as Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) subject to confirmation by the Senate. Engr. Benedict Adeyileka is to act as DG, NCAA pending the confirmation by the Senate.
 
It added that Dr. Engr. Felix A. Abali (Director Licencing, NCAA) is to replace Capt. Muhktar Usman as Commissioner, AIPB, with Dr. Tony Anuforo retaining his position as Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMMET).
