Jonathan to swear-in first batch of ministers today

The event is coming after a string of criticisms by the opposition politicians and activists over what they called a slow start by Jonathan following the delay in constituting the cabinet a month after being sworn in for a fresh tenure. The ministers designate include former Petroleum minister Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke (Bayelsa), former FCT minister Senator Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), former Labour minister Barrister Emeka Wogu (Abia), former Niger Delta minister Elder Godsday Orubebe (Delta), former Interior minister Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (Ekiti), former Education minister Professor Ruqayyatu Rufai (Jigawa) and former Health minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu (Ebonyi).

Also confirmed are former minister of National Planning, Dr. Shamsudeen Usman (Kano), former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) (Kogi), former Information Minister Labaran Maku (Nasarawa), former Solid Minerals minister, Architect Mohammed Musa Sada (Katsina), former Transport minister, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman  (Sokoto). All twelve of them had served in the federal cabinet that was dissolved at the end of last month. The first time nominees that were confirmed by the Senate are Hajiya Zainab Maina (Adamawa) and Mrs. Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi (Anambra).
