President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated Gen Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by polling a total vote of 157, 195.
The APC candidate had 146, 399 votes from all the six area councils according to the results announced by the State Collation Officer for Presidential Election (SCOPE) in the FCT, Prof. Michael Olanrewaju Faborede.
Though PDP lost in polling units in Aso Rock Villa and four area councils, they claimed Bwari and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the two largest councils in the territory.
However, results from two polling units were cancelled due to over voting while results in one polling unit in Karu was described as ‘incomprehensible’ by the Area Council Officer for Presidential Election, Arch. Adamu Taminu.
