The10th edition of the Jos Festival of Theatre 2017 billed for March is set to hold with the support of the US Mission in Nigeria at the Alliance Française, Jos. 

According to Patrick Jusde Oteh, Artistic Director of the Jos repertory Theatre (JRT) organizers of the event, the Festival is themed ‘A Decade of Telling Stories,’ and will feature six plays. 

They include August Wilson’s ‘Fences,’ Federico Garcia Lorca’s ‘Yerma’ (with the Embassy of Spain), Bode Sowande’s ‘The Night Before,’ Jaromir Erben’s ‘Kytice’ (with the Czech Embassy), Wole Soyinka’s ‘Childe Internationale’ and Aime Cesaire’s ‘The Tragedy of King Christophe’ which is making its debut in the festival.

The plays deal with a variety of issues in society with a goal to encouraging dialogue and communication.

Oteh said there will be a series of workshops with the highlight being the acting and play creating workshop to be facilitated by Segun Adefila of Crown Troupe of Africa, filmmaking workshops which will be done in collaboration with Watershed Entertainment, arts management and dance classes.
