The Grade 1 Area Court in Bukuru, Plateau State, presided over by Hon. Hycinth Dolnaan on Monday sentenced a 20-year-old Gabriel Orupou to two years in prison for destroying a campaign billboard belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along Zaramaganda, Jos South LGA of the state.
He was sentenced for destroying an Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign billboard.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), Orupou was arraigned for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy and mischief, contrary to sections 59 and 313 of the Plateau State Penal Code Law.
Orupou was sued before the court alongside three others who are still at large.

The sentencing of Orupou on Monday followed his conviction by the court on Friday last week after he pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him by the police through the prosecutor, Martina Bitrus.
When the case was called on Monday, the convict pleaded for mercy, adding that he had been hired and paid N2,000 by Musa, Bash and Danlami who were still at large.
