Muslims have been told to ensure good moral attitude among their children by giving proper parenting in the society.
The Chief Executive Director of Islamic Counselling Initiative of Nigeria (ICIN), Hajiya Fatima Abdulsalam, stated this yesterday, at a one-day, seminar themed; “Parenting in the 21st Century for Societal Development,”.
She said, “The first thing that parent would do is, to impact moral values on the child to prepare it for the building of a better society.”
Mrs. Fatima further challenged the women to ensure that their children were trained uprightly, adding that in doing so, they must be kind and merciful to the children.
“The issue of hygiene, cleanness, decency and education is essential to good parenting,” she said.
She said rampant divorce makes parenting very difficult. She advised parents to strive to bring their children closer to them, share ideas and counsel them, emphasising that Allah will surely ask each and every parent to give account on how he or she cares about his child.
