Dr. Kazaure said this when he received the NUJ national executive members led by the President, Malam Muhammad Garba, together with the management staff of the Institute.
He described journalists as partners in progress in terms of information gathering and dissemination, and solicited for greater cooperation between the board and journalists.
He said there are about 435 institutions under the board’s supervision while several others are seeking accreditation.
The NUJ president commended the board for uplifting technical and vocational education in the country and appealed to government to ensure adequate funding of the board.
The IIJ, he said, was established in 1994 and has since been offering diploma certificates in Journalism and other related courses.
“IIJ has graduated no fewer than 7,000 students since its establishment but we are faced with the challenge of recognition of some of our courses by government and institutions and that is why we are here to solicit your support to help facilitate the accreditation process,” he said.
