Okonta who sings gospel songs says his mission is to use music to exhort God and encourage humanity. The up and coming artiste told our correspondent that the track is released in order to inform people that no matter the circumstances they find themselves, they should always have it in mind that God has a way of providing for them.

He said his inspiration comes from the passion he has for music which has been there since he was young. He believes the right time to exploit the potential is now, he said.

“It is not about joining the bandwagon because people are into it but for what I have always loved doing. I have passion for music since I was young and I believe this is the right time to exploit it.

“Although it is a divine leading because I can’t imagine that I would one day face the microphone and sing but most times my nspiration comes from sleep and each time I wake up, I start singing a song which I would record into a small radio and play it – that was how I was able to compile songs,” he said.

Speaking on why he chose gospel music, he said that it is a divine direction and God has ways of passing messages across to His people. He noted that most contemporary artistes started from the church before veering to contemporary music.

“In the gospel aspect we have enormous and untapped potentials for the industry, just that people should be earnest and tap from the potentials, maybe that is the reason why God is raising someone like me in this area to encourage people on the need to praise the lord.”

He further emphasised that music is not only about the beat, but the message you are passing across.
